July 15, 2008
Regarding the July 15, 2008 Hit Exchange Report.
We tracked and analyzed hits from more than 2015 sites. Our best
estimate is that at least 200 of these sites are manual hit
exchanges. Overall and on average, we track and analyze one million
hits for each Hit Exchange Report, and the average bounce rate is
58.94%.

Back to … Average bounce rate is 58.94%.
What is bounce rate? The bounce rate reveals what percentage of
visitors looked at the site (such as in surfing) and then
immediately left the site, performing no actions of any kind (no
clicking of any page links, no requesting more info, no viewing
other pages, no signup, nothing).
Again, the average bounce rate is 58.94%, overall from all 2015
sites tracked and analyzed.
What is the highest bounce rate of all the manual hit exchanges we
test? Keep in mind, bounce rate is bad and the higher percentage
equals worst performance.
The answer, the highest bounce rate of all manual hit exchanges
tested is from TrafficSwarm, currently 83.86%.
Moreover, the latest Hit Exchange Report tracked and analyzed 2227
hits from TrafficSwarm. We’ve continuously tested TrafficSwarm
since November 2002 and have tracked more hits from them than any
other exchange tested. Both the high bounce rate and hits collected
from TrafficSwarm are about average and results are almost always
zero.
Another interesting note is that the only other type sites we see
bounce rates higher than 80% are from auto-surfing exchanges, and
they too consistently produce zero results.
By the way, you do know it’s against our TOS to advertise your
TrafficHoopla URL on any auto-surfing type exchange. Why is this?
Because they consistently produce zero results and therefore waste
our resources.
Other notables:
We track and analyze hits to all TrafficHoopla.com pages and also
collect hits from a Team of normal hit exchange users promoting
their own stuff. On average, we track and analyze one million hits
for each Hit Exchange Report.
Our testing is 100% independent and based on statistical data only.
We do not own nor are we in partnership with any hit exchanges of
any kind. Although there is some value to opinions and
commentaries, we do not include anecdotal evidence here.
The first weekly Hit Exchange Report was produced in November 2002,
and since our very first issue not a single update has been missed
or delayed.
David Fotheringham, the author of the Hit Exchange Report, is a
retired teacher with a degree in mathematics and statistics. He is
conservative, honest, and one of the hardest working people I know.
It is not necessary for us to participate in an exchange in order
to collect hits and take notice. Anywhere that TrafficHoopla.com
(any pages) is shown or an exchange where our Team is promoting
their stuff, we will collect and analyze hits. When we consistently
collect and analyze at least 100 hits (each report), and the
exchange produce results, our Team will join and participate, some
will often upgrade and/or purchase credits.
It’s a numbers game, and those with the best numbers are tops. Our
overall ranking is based on Delivery + Unique + Sitting Balance +
Bounce Rate + New Visitors + Actual Results. Each Hit Exchange
Report also includes summaries, benchmarks, useful info, advanced
info, raw data, and much more.
